GamesAid: 2015 Events Calendar

We’re over half way through 2015 and the fundraising season is back in full swing. There’s already a number of great events lined up where you can play your part and raise money for GamesAid’s deserving causes. But there’s always room for plenty more, so just email:, if you’d like to add your event or fundraiser added to this list.


16 Into the Woods screening – huge thanks to Disney Interactive And Darren Newnham for the amazing Into The Woods screening which raised over £700 for GamesAid.

31 – Stay in for GamesAid – We’re inviting you to snuggle up, stay in for the night, play some games and donate the money you would have spent on a night out to deserving GamesAid causes. It’s really easy to do, and you can share your splendid efforts via the hashtag #stayin4gamesaid.

1-Alexis Kennedy runs the Napa Valley Marathon for GamesAid – Alexis of Fail Better games is going to be tackling this monster marathon stateside. Help him reach his target

MCV Awards 2015 – Don’t forget to bring your GamesAid tenner to the annual MCV Awards 2015


16 – Abseil the Arcelor Mittal Orbital Structure – go overboard, abseil this iconic structure in the Olympic park and help raise £500. We have a limited number of places for intrepid abseilers for this 80m challenge – but don’t worry instructors will be on hand to show you the ropes! Get in touch with if you’re willing to take the drop!

Charity Cricket match – Forget T-20, it’s all about 10-10 as four teams cash in the annual GamesAid Cricket Match at Kew Cricket Club. A splendid day out for both watchers and players.

Stand Up for GamesAid – the annual side-splitter at London’s Comedy Store is inked in for another night of japes and hilarity, hosted by GamesAid ambassador Imran Yusuf.

28 – 5K Colour Vibe Fun Run
Run,(or walk) for GamesAid in this crazy event where you can throw coloured powder at your mates. Entry is £19 and the event takes place just south of London in Uckfield. Let us know if you enter by sending an email to so we can support your fundraising!

14th – The GamesAid Poker Tournament at Develop 2015

GamesCom: The annual Cologne to Brighton three-day ride back from GamesCom takes place in August and a number of industry stalwarts will no doubt be signing up to get a few hundred kilometres under their belt. Keep ’em peeled here for further details.

7th Charity Voting Begins – You decide which charities are chosen to receive the receipts of a whole year’s worth of fundraising!

24th-27th EGX – The Eurogamer Expo is always a hotbed of fundraising activity for GamesAid, further details will be forthcoming nearer the time, but Midlife Gamers will be attendance and there may
EBay goodies on offer too. Watch this space!

27th – Windsor Half marathon – a number of GamesAid runners are expected to be participating in the annual royal run-fest – keep ’em peeled for more details!


Golden Joysticks – Tenner for GamesAid – the industry’s annual big day out is always a good time to catch up with friends and colleagues, although your liver may not be quite so forgiving the next day. Don’t forget to pack a tenner (at least) for the collection which last year raised over 2K for GamesAid good causes.

21st – Hot Gen’s Men’s Survival of the Fittest – sounds scary, but we’re sure it won’t be too demanding, check out their Just Giving Page for further details or contact for more info.

16th – GamesAid Christmas Concert – The splendid carol concert is back on the agenda this year led by the inimitable Ian Chambers. Make sure you book your tickets early, it’s an evening of song, mulled wine and mince pies not to be missed!
