Third annual GamesCom-Brighton bike ride complete!

The third annual GamesCom-Brighton ride, which has now becoming a regular fixture in the fundraising calendar, was completed last week by GamesAid’s intrepid cyclists with over £5000 raised for this year’s charities.

Six brave cyclists, led by Warner Bros.’ Cat Channon  and including Keef Sloan, James Beavan, Bruce Grove, Hastan Brooks and Julian Benson, completed the 352 mile ride, with the help of a support vehicle driven by Mark Heath and his fiancé Deborah Hood,  courtesy of NCSoft, who also sponsored this year’s support crew.

“Everyone was riding to raise money for GamesAid, which supports British based, youth and children’s charities,” said Channon. ” This is the third year for the cycle, which covers 352 miles from GamesCom in Cologne to Brighton, via Dieppe and Newhaven. We cover four countries: Germany, Holland, Belgium and France.”

“It’s an awesome trip but comes off the back of one of the hardest work weeks for us all of the year, which is what makes it all the more challenging.”

Nearly 90% of the teams £5900 target is complete and if you’d like to make a donation for their hard-working efforts, then you can on the cycle team’s Just Giving page here:

But this is not the end and despite some weary legs, some of the team are eager to repeat the dose next year.

“To date we’ve raised over £5,000,” said Channon. “Three of the troop have already signed up for 2014: if anyone wants in they should drop us a mail at trustees@gamesaid.org. “
