Winners of the EGX Rezzed competition announced!

To end the animated London Games Festival, GamesAid ran a fundraising competition at EGX Rezzed, 7-9th April. Attendees lined up at the GA stand at Tobacco Dock with £1 coins in their hands to try their luck at winning an Oculus Rift or a PS4.

The challenge was this: £1 entry for a 5 minute window in which to complete chapter 1, level 20, of Super Meat Boy.

Placed ontop of the fountain, brave souls had to step up to the challenge. Hundreds tried, raising around £300 for charity. Some even returned to try and beat their record time. An impressive 181 people completed the level in time and were entered into the draw to win great prizes donated by SEGA, Oculus and Sony.

The fastes was @Tunuko who completed the level in a record of 16 seconds! Many attempted to beat his record and came close but ultimately @Tunuko remained the honorary record holder for the rest of the event.

Out of the many contestants there could only be two winners of the prizes. Without further ado, here they are:

Daniel Hayball has won an Oculus Rift! He says: “That is amazing!!! Thanks so much and well done for all your hard work at Rezzed. We had a great time. I’m a computer games software development student so I will do my best to put [the Oculus Rift] to great use!”

Michael De Courney has won a PS4! He says: “Wow I didn’t expect to win. I just had a lot of fun taking part!”

Thank you everyone for joining us during EGX Rezzed and taking part in our fundraiser. All money raised is going straight to GamesAid and the many wonderful charities we support.

No need to feel sad if you haven’t won. All the money raised is going to charity and there will be plenty more opportunities to win things. Like our raffle at the Stand Up for GamesAid event!
