GamesAid 2018 Cheque Giving Ceremony at EGX

GamesAid hosted its annual Cheque Giving Ceremony at EGX in Birmingham on Thursday 20th September.

Each year, the Cheque Giving Ceremony awards UK charities that support disabled and disadvantaged youth/children with funds, as voted for by video game professionals. The total amount of money raised through various GamesAid events is equally divided and distributed to those charities.

It’s always an emotional event, where the games industry can witness where the money it’s raised is going and the difference it is going to make to people’s lives.

Over the past 12 months, GamesAid has raised a grand total of £213,120. This year GamesAid congratulated and welcomed nine charities to its charity each receiving an amazing £23,680; Accuro, Access Sport, Autistica, The Clock Tower Sanctuary, Everyone Can, Lifelites, my AFK, Solving Kids Cancer and Special Effect.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part in the voting process and helped raise money throughout the year for a good cause. Your help has boosted the supporting charities.
