GamesAid Poker Tournament a record breaker!

GamesAid’s annual Poker Tournament in association with Relentless Software took place last night and an evening of intense poker action resulted in a record breaking night which raised £4800 for GamesAid charities.

Organised by Warner Brothers’ Mark Ward, the Poker Tournament saw 60 of the industry’s finest poker players assemble to compete for some splendid prizes at the Grosvenor G Casino in Brighton.

Industry high rollers and whales competed in a game of Texas Hold ‘em with a £50 buy in and no limit and the evening proved to be a triumph for industry veteran Graeme Monk Studio Director at  Exient who came first, with James Chaytor from Sprung Studios runner-up and David Miller from Bossa Studios a very creditable third.

Mark Ward who is also a GamesAid Ambassador said: “The generosity of the industry’s poker players allowed us to smash our GamesAid Develop Poker Tournament fundraising record. We’re incredibly grateful to everybody who took part and to our prize sponsors, and the overall tournament sponsor, Relentless Software, without whom the tournament wouldn’t happen.”

Graeme picked up the highly desirable winner’s trophy pictured here but the evening was also marked by a raft of splendid prizes for players donated by friends of GamesAid including that all-new trophy for first place donated by Mastertronic, an iPad Mini donated by EDGE, a Jabra Bluetooth Solemate donated by Intent Media, a Nokia Lumia smartphone, games hardware and software and blu-ray movies.

GamesAid would like to say a big thanks  to all the players and  everybody else who has supported the event with their generosity in donating this year’s prizes and especially to Relentless Software who have sponsored the tournament for the fifth year in a row.
