Stand Up for GamesAid: Final Call for Crackling Comedy

Stand Up for GamesAid, the funniest night on the games industry calendar, is only a week away and tickets are running out!

On May 9th the charismatic Imran Yusuf will be leading an impressive line-up of first class comedians at London’s Comedy Store, the most influential comedy club on the planet. Year on year Stand Up for GamesAid is a huge fundraising success and this 2016 will be another sell-out show with these top performers ready to bring the mirth for your evening’s entertainment!

imran5MC Imran Yusuf
Your host will be the former games industry veteran who worked for the likes of Midway Games, Eidos, SEGA Europe and Kuju London. After a stint bringing us Red Card Soccer (PS2), Yakuza (PS2), and Battalion Wars 2 (Wii), Imran left the development studios for the land of show business. He was nominated Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010 and also made his UK debut TV appearance on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow with his famous routine about Xbox Live and Call of Duty.

mike5Mike Gunn
A misspent youth and a series of grim jobs cultivated Mike’s cynical outlook on life and a perverse desire led him to the world of stand-up. He now headlines at all the top comedy venues in the UK and is rapidly reaching cult status on the circuit. Taking two solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival, he’s sold out entire month-long tours. The Independent calls him “One of the 10 leading stand-ups in Britain.”

ally5Allyson Smith
Since 2000, Allyson June Smith has been tickling Canada’s comedy scene from the moment she put down the chalk brush and picked up a mic. Playing to packed rooms has become like another day in the classroom for this former school teacher. Along with her own hour long Comedy Now special, she has taken home multiple Canadian Comedy Award nominations for Best Female Stand-Up.

john5John Robertson
Starting comedy in 2003, he left his day job in 2008 (fired) to do comedy full-time (much better), quickly establishing himself as an in-demand club headliner and event MC (money). Creator of the incredibly viral live-videogame, The Dark Room, his style is interactive and insane, fusing retro gaming and improv comedy into a deranged rock n roll game show. The Guardian deems it: “NOT TO BE MISSED”.

steve5Steve Gribbin
Steve Gribbin is a diminutive guitar-wielding satirist from Liverpool whose scabrous comedy songs and off the wall observations have made him one of the firm favourites of the comedy circuit. Steve’s original comedy songs combine razor sharp lyrics with tunes that put their foot in the door of your mind and refuse to leave. He has performed two full-length one-man shows at the Edinburgh Festival and appeared on “Saturday Live”.

damian5Damian Clark
Damian Clark is one of the best comics to emerge from Australia in recent years. His enthusiastic and consistently energetic storytelling continues to captivate people everywhere. Immediately likeable, Damian was voted ‘The Number 1 event to see’ & ‘cream of the crop’. Winner of multiple awards, The Comedy Channel calls him “The future of Australian comedy.”

terry5Terry Alderton
Terry is one of the most exciting comedians around regularly performing all over the globe. Peeking inside the Technicolor mind of one of Britain’s finest comic talents and you will find him desperately doing battle with “The Voices”, two unpredictable and hilarious Voices in Terry’s Head. A TV personality as well as comedian, Michael McIntyre has found Terry as a source of inspiration and Frank Skinner says of Terry: “One of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. A f***ing genius!”
